Funded Projects

So far, £11 has been raised through The Health Lottery in South East England.

Thanks to this money, 212 local projects have been funded by People’s Health Trust, since 2011.

Little Gate Farm

Were awarded £31,260 to see the development of ad-hoc life skills sessions into a structured programme of workshops teaching life skills to young adults who have a learning disability or autism from Hastings, St. Leonards and Bexhill.

Workshops will be on areas such as mental health, managing money and budgeting, managing relationships and planning healthy meals. The project will be delivered at the farm, where beneficiaries already attend support sessions, and will work towards building cohesion.

Exploring Senses CIC

Were awarded £28,152 to continue an existing project that provides a weekly ‘maker space’ session for young people aged 8-19 years living in Queen’s Park area of Brighton. The weekly sessions enable young people to make friends and learn new skills, through training and access to cutting-edge technology and arts equipment.

Based at the Brighton Youth Centre, this project has enabled young people to learn skills such as toy hacking, 3D printing and enjoy informal learning through playful investigation.

David Allistone, Director at Exploring Senses CIC says: “Thanks to this funding we are able to provide new exciting opportunities for local young people to learn about new possible career pathways, the latest cutting edge digital technologies, arts, crafts, science, engineering and maths within the Exploring Senses 'Young Inventors Centre' maker space project. We are very excited about this, and so are the young people!”
